The Silverado 1500 is available with a variety of engines. In fact, Chevrolet offers a total of six different engines in the Silverado for 2019, ranging from a 3.0L diesel engine, all the way up to a 6.2L V8 that makes 425 horsepower. Transmission options include both 8-speed and 10-speed automatics depending on trim level. Like most trucks in this class, power is generally sent to the rear wheels, though 4-wheel drive is available.
The base Chevrolet Silverado trim is known simply as "Work Truck". The Work Truck trim is aimed at people who rely on their trucks as a tool and who care more about its function than how many speakers the stereo has. The Custom Trail Boss is a new trim for 2019 and as its name implies, it takes the Custom trim and adds various off-roading goodies. The Trail Boss gets a 2-inch lift, rancho shocks, a rear locking differential, skid plates and off-road tires.

The LT trim offers chrome accents along the bumpers and front grille, LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and a bigger 8-inch touchscreen inside. The RST is one step up from the LT, adding full LED lighting that includes the fog lamps, headlights and tail lamps. Body colored trim and 22-inch wheels are also included.

Like the Custom, the LT is available in Trail Boss form, combining the features of the LT with the off-road suspension and skid plates.

The LTZ trim moves fully into luxury vehicle territory with additional exterior chrome accents, power folding mirrors, leather trimmed seats and lots of interior goodies. The top-of-the-line High Country trim offers a power tailgate, chrome assist steps and a very cool two-tone grille design with chrome and bronze finishing.

The Chevrolet Silverado is all-new for 2019 after a full redesign. The new truck looks far more modern and sharp than the one it replaces with a more upright grille, more attractive front fascia and advanced construction techniques that utilize lightweight materials. The result is a significantly better truck than last year's Silverado, with particular gains being made under the skin. The 2019 Silverado 1500 also grows in size, making it more capable of hauling all manner of things from place to place. At the same time, some new luxury options have also made their way into the Silverado 1500, allowing the truck to do more things for more people.

The Silverado 1500 has always covered a huge portion of the market, meaning there's always been a wide gulf between the base truck and the most expensive version. Pricing has not been announced yet, but expect the Silverado 1500 to start at around $29,000 for a no-frills work truck, with prices going up into the mid-60,000s for some of the more luxuriously appointed versions.
