Oakes Auto continues to demonstrate its commitment to giving back to the community through its annual Fall Food Drive, held at Oakes Kia, Oakes Buick GMC, and Oakes Ford this past September. Each store donated a percentage of every car sold, along with over 500 non-perishable food items, to help families in need. The drive raised $1,500 in total, providing crucial assistance to various local charities.
Oakes Ford chose to support Concern, Inc., a nonprofit food pantry located in Mound City, Kansas. They specialize in providing emergency assistance to nearby families, offering not just food but also clothing and help with essential bills like utilities. The pantry serves as a lifeline for many, ensuring that individuals facing tough times can receive the support they need to get back on their feet.
This year, Oakes Kia supported Feed Northland Kids, a nonprofit organization centered around supporting school-aged children in NKC. More than 11,000 children in our area struggle with food insecurity, and that’s where Feed Northland Kids steps in. They have in-school pantries that provide students with ready-to-eat food and snacks that they can take home and share.
Oakes Buick GMC supported Operation Breakthrough, a nonprofit organization that cares for over 700 children every day. More than 70% of their enrolled families live below the poverty guidelines - most living on less than $12,000 annually. Operation Breakthrough provides a safe and loving environment for these children and empowers their families through emergency aid and education.
For Oakes Auto, community involvement is more than just an annual event—it's part of our core values. Giving back is what drives us forward. Thank you to all our team members, vendors, and customers for making this a successful event.
